Meh…

I’ve seen both Halestorm and Evanescence before, and they’ve had better shows in my opinion. I’m not sure if it was because of COVID and/or the fact that Newark was the last show of their tour, but it was all just very underwhelming. The couple to my right fell asleep, and I was nodding off myself. At one point in the show, Lzzy from Halestorm held a screaming note for what seemed like a full minute, and I thought that was excessive. Then, when Amy Lee of Evanescence brought out Lzzy to sing “Heavy” by Linkin Park, it felt like they were just trying to outdo each other on vocals. It was just so loud for no reason. I don’t know that I would go to another concert that they headline, but maybe if they’re part of a festival.
